Part of the Supra crew as well now, bought a 2019 SA 400 with 20 hrs this week.
After testing 4 different brands and watching 100s of hours youtube reviews, I came back to the first one I looked at.
Happy to share my findings if others are going through the boat selection process.

I want a mellow wave for my 10 year old and I thought the 2 wake surf presets were to big.

Also noticed that when the bow ballast is full it lifts the seat cushions, any suggestions?

To calm the wave down throw something me wake plate at it to lengthen it and reduce height.

The cushions popping up is common on the SA’s from 2016-2019. I am going to guess you got some air in the bags. They have an air vent, just open the vent to burp out the air.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkMore plate? Maybe set it to 75.

I also noticed on go home mode the plate would change from 50 to 100.

Really wish the dealer took me through the settings. Ho hum

You won’t need that much plate. 35-40 will reduce wake.

Option 2 is simply reduce how much you fill the bags for your son. Drop to 60/70% and try Autowake settings.

Use autowake and it will teach you what works, after a couple weeks it becomes intuitive. Great system for newbs. I was clueless 3 years ago and autowake was awesome to teach me.

Now, I don’t really need it.

I'll try it again.

Listen to those messages. It’s telling you what to do to meet the pitch and roll settings.

If you don’t have people or lead to move to those spots then it is telling you what needs adjustment.

For example, if it says add bow weight and you don’t have any more water capacity, lead or people to move to the bow, you can try speeding up a bit, reduce rear ballast or add a little wake plate.

I haven't had the boat in the water yet. Everything I know about AutoWake is from the threads here, the Moomba forums, and Wake9's youtube videos. Better info on the Moomba forum for autowake. More new Supra owners there then on this forum.

I love the colors on your boat. You got a pretty one. My wife would love it. We needed the 450 due to altitude, and options on used 450's were limited. We could get our boat wrapped or painted if we wanted, but that is a consideration down the road.

Like Larry said, get some lead if you haven't already. Easier to disperse the lead around the boat than people. I have 900#'s. I usually run a small crew, so that give me good displacement and ability for Autowake to drain bags as needed to achieve desired pitch and roll settings. Autowake preset 2 is what most adults start with. Like Larry said, a little wake plate goes a long ways to lengthen and soften the wave. An increase in speed can also lengthen your wave, but this is not advised for new surfers.

My thoughts are just go put some hours on the boat adjusting the surf tabs, ballast settings, and smart plate. You may need to reset the presets back to factory defaults if someone edited them, particularly on the back to dock preset. That would give you a clean slate to adjust the boat to "You", the owner of an awesome looking surf machine.

Hard to give a bunch of advice on the AutoWake here, but there is an AMP setting that you can adjust that will mellow out the wave.

I use Autowake on my SL. Most people fill the ballast 100% full and set the system on what side you want. Once you get moving, the system will start to deploy the ballast pumps (draining) to tried to achieve the pitch and roll numbers. Thus, they system will try to drain ballast from side/side or the bow to get the right numbers. If you look at the Auto-Wake screen, you can move people around to help achieve those numbers and not drain ballast.

There are some common pitch and roll numbers you will find for Reg and Goofy.

Also, this is why people carry 500-600# of lead bags. Move the lead vs moving the people.

Best method to learn is to have someone on your boat with you explaining it and you are surfing.

Once you learn those pitch and roll numbers, you can move people or weight around to achieve them - it's not bad. Autowake is not necessary if you have consistent people and weight. Helps when you have big crews and small crews.

Good luck.

We were actually looking for an all white boat like yours, I think they look classy( anti Pavarti). As you said though it's slim pickings and when this one came up, couldn't let it go.
I'll let this thread know what works well for the young ones.
