Tips on replacing Vdrive shaft packing

I used to change the shaft packing on my direct drive with ease. I now have an 08 launch SSV and when I attempted, it looks impossible with normal tools. Does anyone know of a video or can give me some tips on doing this?

The video on wake garage site should help as you probably have a dripless seal. These only need to be changed every 10-12 years or so. Here is a link to the video (BTW, I have a Glide kit for this project for sale in the Moomba.com classifieds.) Good luck!
