Check this out .. I was at a business dinner a few weeks ago, we started talking boats, and it turns out one of the guys I've known for years purchased a 1987 Sunsport Skier new back in the day. He's owned two of them and regrets selling! He was looking for an old brochure he thought he had and was going to give me, but came up with this instead. That was a lot of money in '87.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210930/fc55eb97caea4ae23a1c7279c1b30844.jpg

I bought my Sunsport Classic 6-20-89 for 21,800.00 after tax and fees 22,925.00 out the door. Still looks and runs the same with the exception of the ND tower and stereo I wonder if there will be any 2021 boats on the water in 2054?

She's still a beauty, Michael! What's more, you could sell yours for what you paid after 32 years .. it's like having 32 years of fun for a little bit of fuel and maintenance.

Adjusting for a future 2022 in the 1987 pricing
4% would be $77k in 2022
5% would be $108K in 2022
6% would be $151k in 2022

Can I play this game?

I don't have the original invoice for my 1983 Supra Rider, but I do have the original MSO for boat and trailer. I believe it was over $20k new. When my parents bought it in March of 1988, they paid $15,000 for it. It had 30 hours on it after another family member rarely used it due to his age. It was in mint condition and essentially brand new but sitting 5 years did cause some problems for us that first season of ownership.

I posted the invoice for my 1991 Comp which is on this thread. https://forum.supraboats.com/showthread.php?20244-1991-Supra-Comp/page5&highlight=1991+comp
Was a factory demo that sold in 1993 for $17,750.00 before taxes which is funny because that'll probably be my final number when I done restoring it even though I only paid $1250.00 couple years ago. I have spared no expense so far.

However, here is some crème de la crème of Supra memorabilia. If someone has anything better than this, I'll buy you a steak dinner. Check this out.

Ok, I have one of the first brochures Supra put out in mint condition. Well, not only do I have one, I have two now. Printed in 1981, someone dated it Aug. 27, 1982. When the Beast came out, it was a Beast for sure. Rated @ 425 hp. To put that in perspective at the time, the 1982 Corvette only had 200 horses and weighed 300 pounds more.

Ok, what I'm about to post here is confidential. Even after close to 40 years, Supra doesn't want you to see what a dealer pays for a boat. I may get double secret probation or get put in Supra jail for posting this. This is really cool stuff here and was lucky to find it.

If someone has anything better than this, I'll buy you 2 steak dinners. Check this out!

Ok, this Supra brochure has the elusive Allegro on it so, if you have something better, it should be worth 3 steak dinners, right? The Allegro search continues....but it did exist at one time. Check this out!

The Rider was in its second year and the Comp was making its debut in 1984. Both of these models are in my collection so I kinda give them preferential treatment over other models. The one thing I am missing in my collection of brochures are the Sunsports and Marauders which evolved from the Riders and the Beasts.

Here are a few random pages of ads from water sport magazines that were taken out over the years. This is just a sample. I have a lot more and would love to publish but for now, this is it. No steak dinners on these if you have something better.

Thank you for the pictures of an actual Sport. There are quite a few subtle differences between the 81 and 82 Sports.

Thank you for the pictures of an actual Sport. There are quite a few subtle differences between the 81 and 82 Sports.

From what I can gather from these brochures and have seen in person, the Star had a short side window with no railing, the Sport had same windshield with the long raked support arm (compare to the Rider) and the Beast had a longer triangular side window. In an interview with George Fowler, he mentioned they played around with the windshields but the hull was the same for all 3. You could choose 1 out of 3 engine options for the Star and Sport but the Beast was strictly 454 Chevy.

I hope these 40 year old brochures are enjoyed by those people that own the few remaining original Stars, Sports or Beasts.

I picked up a 1983 Supra Beast that pretty much needs everything but seriously want to build it out and make it true Beast. I love the vinyl and color combo and once my Rider is redone, will definitely consider.

Sweet!! Those are awesome! I do have something kinda cool ... an original owners manual for my '86 Sunsport. It includes the Marauder.

I bet it looks like this. :)

I picked up this one from eBay 8-9 years ago at least. Surprised to find the owner information card in it. Well, not sure exact model but it was the 89th one built in August of 1989 and sold in October 1989 as a 1990 model. Assuming if the manual was sold separately, then the boat is no longer with us, but who knows?

Well not anymore!

Clint, you might like one...right up your alley I hope. Found this one from 1985 and had to have. It is 5 pages not including front and back cover.
Such a neat find and hope you guys enjoy as well.

Let's get one in here for Michael Hunter. Here is a one page brochure for the 1992 year Comp. It is not in the best shape but got for free so no complaints.

Here is cool brochure that folds open into a poster. One of my favorites as it has plenty of pics of all the models. This one doesn't show year but the brochure says, "a decade ago, George Fowler gave a message to his engineers," so leads me to believe 1991 for that reason.

I have two of these brochures buying one years ago and one just recently. I am thinking of having one framed and put up in my lake house.
