We have been experiencing an issue when we are cruising along at normal speeds around 20 to 25 mph when all of the sudden the boat will loose power. Kind of feels like someone hit the throttle back but no one has. It doesn't stall or anything but then we have to throttle down then and idle for a few minutes then we can go on again. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Is the motor an indmar? Is it EFI or does it have a carburetor? Pertinent information we need before we can help you.

Also, was there anything else peculiar that happened at the time?

What were the readings on the gauges?

Cheers,
DKJ

Yes it is an EFI Indmar. We were having issues with our fuel gauge not reading but fixed that and still having this throttle problem. Temp and Oil Pressure gauges were reading normal. Could this have anything to do with the new Ethenol Fuel? Thanks

your engine may have safety features to protect it from danger. if the engine temp. is getting to hot, if there is too much water in the engine and transmission area, or if oil levels in trans or engine are too low, then the engine will automaticly start running at 1500 rpm. read your owners manual to see if your engine has this feature.

I had the same problem... It was my perfect pass servo cable... it was in a kink between the cooler hoses so fixed that runs perfect.... Good luck!
