finally launched and loving it

[496 BEAST]

We finally have been able to launch our boat. We bought an original 1985 Beast with a 454, the engine was toast, I transplanted in a new 496, this is a compilation motor, part PCM, Cruisader, Mercruiser and Volvo. It barely fits under the hood. Performance; 48mph at 4400 rpm, prop: 14 X 16 SST Michigan Wheel. Excellent fuel economy, 6.7 GPH at 30 MPH that is almost 4.5 mpg. My son and I have been working on her on and off since july. Congrats to you and your son, building something with your kid always is a good thing. More people should do it.

I donate one house a year for elderly couples and my two daughters help me with the footing ,foundation, framing, roofing, trimwork and landscaping. We have such a great time.:-D
