I OWN A 2001 SUPRA SSV WITH A CHEVY 350/330HP.I KNOW HAVE OVER 300 HR ON THIS ENGINE.AND AT EVERY 100 OF SERVICE THE IGNITION MODULE BURNS OUT.IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.OR HAVE ANY IDEALS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM

Make sure the dealer verifies that all ECM grounds are intact. The grounding of the distributor to the engine block may also come into play. If the boat is used in saltwater applications, this may also play a role. When these modules are replaced, there is a special lube, that must be applied to the bottom of them before they are installed.Brian Raymond

My dad has a 2002 Malibu and his went out on 4th of July weekend. Dealer said it is not a common problem on the 350ci vortecs/ 330 hp engines but like all electronics, they either work or they do not.
Glad I have a Supra!!!!!!!!

Any idea how much the part cost him?

Thanks for posting about the module...am putting a spare parts kit together and this thread provided a good insight into something real important that can fail on any of these boats.

It was covered under warrenty but I can find out what it would have cost to get repaired.

I BOUGHT A MODULE FROM A LOCAL AUTO STORE FOR $25.00.BUT I WAS TOLD BY INDAMAR THAT A MARINE MODULE IS DIFFERANT.I FOUND ONE IN MICH.AT MARYSVILLE MARINE FOR $92.00.FAR AS ONE FOR A SPARE THE $25 ONE WILL WORK BUT NOT TO BE PERMENANT
