The Spam on this forum is really getting old.

This place needs more moderators that get on here more than just the business hours. There's already a thread regarding that in the site suggestions forum. They may be working on better software, but it's ultimately gonna take someone that's on here more frequently then once a day during the week.

Sorry about the spam. We try to be on here more than once a day. It is a big problem and we are doing the best we can. I deleted about 30 or 40 pieces of spam this morning. Until a better system of monitoring this site comes along, spam is going to be a problem. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I do check this site more than once a day, but a lot of the spam comes in during the night.

SC - have you considered switching the forum to not be "open" - meaning,
people must "request membership" - doing htat makes some work for you, but
chases away most spammers - they attack the sites that just let them in.

I am guessing the work to approve memberships would be way less than the
spam now.

I use this same forum software on at least 4 other sites that use this type of member
ship setting - and they have ZERO spam.

That said, several of us have offered that if you allow us to have "moderator" priviledges, we could assist with the deletion of the obvious stuff...
