The boat is in a class of its own. You can ski and wakeboard behind it. At the right speed puts out almost 5 foot without sacks cant bet that. Plus can sleep in it very comfortably.

Maryland to Redding Calf. If this boat is the one Ill bet we could put together a tow relay
one member passing the boat to the next member across the country. How cool would that be? Maybe get some dealers involved as drop off points. What a great promotion of the Supra forum Brotherhood.
I will take Indiana.

Im for sure up for the caravan deal if other members and dealerships are. Im willing to drive out and get it myself but if dont have to go all the way for it would be awesome..

I admit to being rather fascinated by the Alegro. However, I can't help but be curious about its usefulness. Could you really overnight on this boat? My experience with my Comp is that it is a really rough ride in the bumps, would the Allegro be any good in rough water? What was Supra's design intent for this boat?

Thanks,

SUPRA_ALLEGRO_LANE
08-16-2011, 02:25 PM
It is a odd duck for sure. I did overnight in one as a kid all the time. You can sleep 3 in the cabin and one on back bench. As far as handling rough water. It does really well considering it weights a bit more than most. It is as far as I can tell a Sunsport lower hull, with the redesign cap. It handles really well and will still turn on a dime. Plenty of power too with thet 454.

rludtke
08-16-2011, 03:57 PM
That's pretty cool. Did it have any ammenities such as toilet or galley? Could you stand up in the cabin? Do you have any pictures of the cabin, helm, and deck areas?

SUPRA_ALLEGRO_LANE
08-18-2011, 12:56 AM

WOW Man!!! We were talking about the Allegros a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I haven't seen any. But doing some research I found some disturbing numbers........like that there were only 5 made. Is that accurate?

SUPRA_ALLEGRO_LANE
02-13-2013, 12:55 AM
The number of them is some what unclear. Some say they made the the production minimum for those 2 years so that would be like 30 to 40 out there. I say no to that myself. Ive only seen 4 of these boats total. One was the test model demo that looked like it but had differnces, then I have seen 3 other full blown production Allegro's.

Anyone see any out there forsale?

rkhodges21
05-07-2013, 02:39 PM
This is such an interesting thread. Glad I found it. I have never seen an allegro, but now I will be looking out for one each time I hit the water. Really crazy how the boat market comes full circle in certain ways. I thought Mastercraft was raising the bar by offering a day yacht, but with the Allegro, it looks like Supra beat them to the punch almost 30 years prior.

Allegro Lane, I hope you find your boat.

Does this mean Lane finally got an Allegro or is the search still on?

Lane, Correct Craft made a "Cuddy Nautique" that is similar to the Allegro. There have been 2 or 3 for sale this year. I have 1 (soon to be 2...) Correct Craft San Juan's that are projects. They are 23.5' and have a small cuddy, and I believe are the same hull as the Cuddy Nautique. There is a San Juan with a hardtop for sale in the SFBay area.

Check out the brochure for the 1966 San Juan - the girl is longboarding behind it... but it is an I/O version! There are a few other pics in the other years of a surf board inside the San Juan. Mine are 1969 and 1974.

This is so weird. Just yesterday I saw a boat with a cuddy and a tower on it, and thought the guy was really confused about what he wanted his boat to be. Then I see an inboard trailer back in and I was like.... THAT is taking it too far. So I walked over and found it was actually a Correct Craft!

Looked just like this one except didn't have any graphics/badges.

Allegro lane, there are a lot more cuddy cabin inboards than just the supra and fish nautique.

I am thinking about getting a 24 or 26' shamrock stalker so I can go out on the Great Lakes stay the night on some islands off the coast, then come back home and go wakesurfing. The shammys have a pretty flat hull in the back and im think they would be pretty good wakesurf boats when properly slammed with 4,000lbs of weight. Plus they have a keel drive to help protect your prop if your at a boat party on a shallow sand bar or you find a river with a log or stump.

There are others like aquasport, dusky, griffiths, and a few more. Do some poking around on fishtheclassic.net there is a ton of information. Neatest boat I ever saw was a twin engine center console fish nautique. The thing looked like you could take it out in anything but I bet it would throw up one heck of a wake surf wave.

I like the idea of this allegro and good luck on your search.

Old thread, but maybe this is of use...I spotted one.
Being an 85 Comp owner, when I saw this, I had to do more research to find out what the hell it was. That's how I found this thread.
Driving through the middle of nowhere, Ohio, I saw this sitting off the road in someone's back yard. Went back to snap this shot. If you are still looking, I can give you the approximate area and probably even the road or a Google Map image of where I found it. I'll have to trace my steps. Cool pic anyway. 16271

Scottcjones, thanks for the posting of this. And welcome to the Forum. I bought a Allegro last summer, but it is great to see another one. For the right price I would be interested in buying more. All the information you can get me would be great. If you make it back that way I would appreciate if you could stop and give the owner my contact information. I'll PM you that. See if he would like to sell it.

thanks again

Scottcjones, I too have never really seen a supra like this but after stumbling upon this thread now my eyes are peeled everywhere I go. Do you travel that way often? Think it's still there? Not quite sure Steve O, there hasn't been any on the market to give a good idea of value. I know what I value mine at and I'm sure it's not worth it. How do you judge something like this that is rare but at the same time not a highly wanted item. It's not like it's a Yenko Camaro or such. I would say if in good condition with frsh engine and new stringers and such, maybe add 5-10k onto what normal model around that year is going for.

Anybody got any ideas?

Value is all about what someone would pay for it. I'd actually go the other way -- this boat is actually less desireable than the sterndrives that are everywhere and look very similar. I don't know what the inboard/Supra name would add to the value over a Carver or Century or Sea Ray of similar vintage. AFAIK, there's only one person that is into collecting these and he already has one (and he's in this thread.) ;)

SUPRA_ALLEGRO_LANE
05-17-2016, 05:56 PM
I would agree that the Value of a item is what someone would pay for it, that is what it comes down to for sure. At the same time you have items like the Allegro and a few other special built boats by Supra such as the Roush Edition that are going to sell for a high price than the standard version. They are collectible items, low number builds and such.
