I just bought a 02 launch sl . When i took it out for the first time the steering was so tight it took both hands to turn it. It loosened up as I ran it but still kid of tight. I was wondering if there was a grease fitting or something for it.

When you go back to grease the rudder check if there is a zerk at the aft end of the steering cable. Grease all moving parts there.

I am not famaliar with the "Launch" but if it has Teleflex" rotary there should be a clear plastic tube at the helm. I remove mine every couple hundred hours and pack with grease.

If it is rack and pinion, you are probably looking at replacing the cable.

Don't load the grease gun too much, it makes if difficult to get the nipple off.

Your steering cable is shot - a common problem on these boats. It's a relatively easy DIY.
