Sprinker valve users -- wish your ballast filled faster?

Newty on the Moomba boards just figured it out, it doesn't cost a thing, and is a 5-minute DIY job. Based on his preliminary tests, should cut ballast fill time by about 1/3... and he's water-testing this weekend. To follow the progress, here is the link to the thread on the Moomba site:

Hey All I just went out and removed all 3 springs in about 20 minutes. Will try this out tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

Keith, Let me know what you find - don't use the ballast all that often, but when I do - it would sure help to "speed it up" a little.

i have fixed more of those valves in more and more boats
all that spring is there for so the valve closes so you do not fill the ballast as the boat is moving
