I'm looking for help connecting a Uniden Solara VHF radio and a amp for the stereo on my 00 Santera. Not sure if I connect to fuse box (if so, how) or directly to battery. Do I need the wiring diagram?
Thanks for your assistance.

Connect everything to your battery. You should have a fuse for each that's within 18" of the battery. The amplifier will have a remote turn-on terminal, that needs to be wired to the remote turn-on of the head unit. Ground both at the battery also.
If you mount the VHF radio under the console, you may be able to find a power terminal and ground close to that, but make sure the radio doesn't draw too much current and blow the fuses.

you want everthing fused!
you should have an extra fuse block for vhf
as for amp you will need some 4 gauge wire

4 or 8 gauge for the amp install depends on the amplifier that's being used. Some amps won't accept 4 gauge and if that's all that's being powered from that wire then it's pointless to go any bigger.
