Need Input about Audio system

I just bought a 22SSV Launch boat from Club Royale in Waterford, MI and have most of the audio system decided already. On the tower we are doing the Wet Sounds 3 Some powered by the Wet Sounds Syn 6. We also using the WS 420 made by Wet Sounds for an equalizer.

Now we have the question of what sub to use and what to power it. We were either deciding to use the Wet Sounds XS-XXX or the Kicker Solo Barrick L7. We also wondering if we should mount it under the drive dash or should we put the sub in a enclosure.

If you guys could share your input it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a WS expert but most people put them in enclosures. However I think the WS can be used as open air speaker with good results too. Try wakeworld.

I just installed the same setup on my tower. A 3-some powered by a Syn 6. There's no comparison to anything I've ever heard....

For subs, The XXX is the way to go. I'm installing 2 of those in my 24SSV. They require a sealed or ported enclosure. We built the enclosure to the exact specs that are listed in the manual for a ported box. 1 fit under the helm perfectly, and the other fit under the other side.

The only WS woofer you can use without an enclosure is the XS-10FA, but it still needs to be enclosed somehow.

Thanks for your response. No one really had a opinion of the wet sounds subs due to they never installed one yet.

hey - jonyb - I have yet to move my WS-420 from the old boat - last thing I have
to move over when things thaw.

What did you mount it to under the dash?

I had to make some brackets out of metal strapping to mount it with. Did the same thing on my Buddies Moomba. I still need to get some pictures for someone else, so I'll start a thread about that soon.

how many batteries do you have powering that system? I was wondering because I only have two batteries doing the same system and wondering if I need a third battery.

I've got 2 for the stereo and 1 for the boat. They're not the normal Marine batteries though.
