Hello to all,

Just picked up my Supra a few months ago, weather permitting I have only taken it out a couple times. I did have a question regarding the ballast filling. I notice sometimes I get an air pocket in the ballast fill when first filling. The other day I tried to fill only the rear and could not get a prime until I opened up the center fill and then shut it off and let the rear tanks fill up. Is this normal? I have the gravity 3 ballast system (08 Sunsport w/wakeboard package).

Thanks for any input.

Fman

good looking boat. You will need to get your boat up to around 20 mph before you try to turn on your ballast fill. This will get your pump primed. The pump brings water to a manifold and then splits it 3 ways. You should not have to fill one bag to get another one to start filling.

Is that true for filling all ballast systems, that you have to go 20 mph. I have yet to take mine out since I bought it so I am a rookie at the ballast thing. I thought you could fill it stopped or going. Thanks

I think they are saying get it to that speed before trying to fill, so the pumps are primed.

Not that you have to fill it at 20MPH

You don't need to be going 20 mph but you do need to be moving. My 07 primes fine as long as I'm idling.
