I have a 1985 comp ts6m. The wood on the inside of my transom is rotted and my swim deck is flimsy. I was just wondering how big of a pain it is to repair it. I was told by my mechanic that only the wood is rotted. He said the fiberglass is ok. I was also curious if anyone has any tips or tricks. Thanks for your input.

Actually, there is a TON of info here about this - use the search tool, for example, ( i
searched for rotten)

the platform working loose is pretty common. i don't have a comp so i can't say for sure what you'll have to do to get access. the transom has wood backing plates for everything bolted to it. the plywood is 'glassed' over. my '87 was real thin, i would imagine the earlier years were worse.

the real thing you want to watch out for is if the bolts are under your floor. water can get into the flotation foam. you might need to remove your gas tank to get a look. we can get you through it.

good luck...take pics
