I just purchased a used 2003 Launch. Hard to beleive this but I am not sure if it model "Launch" or Launch SS". I bought it a month ago brought it home and wrapped it up in the garage. I hope to get it out this weekend and really go through it well (spring is coming). I have not received any paperwork from the previous lein holder, but hope to have it soon and it may answer some questions. My main question is per the 2003 Supra Owners Manual the specs. on the Launch SS list it at 21' 8" weighing 3050lbs and the Launch list at 20' 11" weighing 3450. What makes the weigh difference on a shorter boat? I am pretty sure I have the Launch, but the weight difference puzzled me. previous Mastercraft x-30 owner...now pround Supra owner.

Below –from Supra’s boat archive link. Looks like the shorter Launch has a greater draft and a larger gas tank. I’m not sure exactly how draft equates to weight difference, but I’m sure there’s something there…?

2003 Launch SS
Length w/o platform - 21' 8"
Length - 23' 8"
Length w/Trailer - 24' 10"
Beam - 95"
Draft - 22"
Boat weight - 3050lbs
Fuel capacity - 28g
Engine - 320hp

2003 Launch
Length w/o platform - 20' 11"
Length - 22' 7"
Length w/Trailer 24' 7"
Beam - 95"
Draft - 24"
Boat weight - 3,250lbs
Fuel capacity - 37gal
Engine - 320hp

My guess is that because the boat weighs 200lbs more, it sits two inches lower in the water. That is really bizzare how it weighs more. Maybe there are some different features in the boat that add up, who knows. Maybe someone from SC has some input...

Well I finally determined what model boat I purchased. The confusion was it is a 2003 Launch LTS and there is no product literture on a 2003 Launch LTS as all the manuals and website data show the LTS was introduced in 2004. I called Skiers Choice and they cleared it up. I have a late 2003 release LTS but the manuals had already been published without the LTS in the line-up. I am a little disappointed with the stats of the LTS (weight/size) as I really thought I purchased the Launch (+500lbs and foot longer). I bought it after a 5 hr drive from NC to GA. But nevertheless it is a very nice & clean boat. Just not sure it will provide the ride and wake anything near my prior MasterCraft X-30, but I paid half as much too. Ready to ride.....

Would the extra 9 gallons of gas explain the weight difference or are those weights always considered "dry"?

yeh...stats are normally based on dry wieght.
