three weeks ago i bought a 1983 supra rider. Its my first v8. It has a 454 chevy..
Yea i get to put in for the first time sat.
any advice for a first time, direct drive "powerhouse" driver?
Ive had plenty I/O boats. what are some of the differences?

i think you're gonna have a fun time. you'll be in for a treat with slow speed maneuvers...the inboard won't turn as sharp as the i/o since the prop/rudder are underneath you instead of behind the transom. at speed you'll be fine.

and a 454 on a 20' boat?....don't forget to untie from the dock, don't want to pull it out... ;)

You'll have a great time! I made the switch last spring, haven't looked back. And no you can't tip over even if you turn as hard as you can. :) But don't do it around other boats.

Backing up in an inboard is always fun... I'd been putting my hat on backward's if I were you.. I can't remember how fast you have to be going before your eyes start to water????
