I just bought a new edelbrok carb for my 84 supra rider with a 351 and it runs great but when im accelerating hard like pulling up a wakeboarder it wants to bog down for a sec another prob i have is the starter grinds sometimes when cranking could this be this the bendix

the starter could be loose or need a shim. has the car been tuned? It could be getting too much gas and flooding and then recovering if you get what im saying.

i switched to an edelbrock carb, ran right out of the box.

With the engine off open the choke disconnect the linkage to the carb open the throttle and look inside the bore. You should see two streams of gas shooting out of the front of the bore. Make sure its a strong steady stream. The starter could be out of alignment or
the teeth on the drive or flywheel may be damaged.
