i bought an 89 comp and not sure what tranny is supposed to be in it. it has a pcm 351 not sure of the rotation yet havent checked it had a 1:1 velvet setting on the side but it didnt look long enough or at the right angle but im not sure any help would be great:(

My 351 came with velvet drive 1:1 transmission. Should say on the motor.

Hey Slyons,

Your Comp is a left hand rotation with the velvet drive 1:1. best way to know this with any boat is when you put it into reverse, if the back end swings right, it's a left hand rotation, if she swings left, it's a right hand rotation. Right hands are typically found on Correct Crafts. Good luck.

If you are looking at the motor from the front (the end with the belts) with the motor running: If the pulleys are rotating clockwise, your motor is left-hand; if they are rotating counterclockwise, your motor is right-hand.

My 92 comp has the 1-2.3-1 transmission not sure if that helps or not but i believe most of them had the 1:1

Does your motor have a PCM id tag on it? If so, we can use that to tell what trans was in your boat from the factory.
