Barefoot Boom

I have a 2007 22SSV Launch and am considering buying a boom. Does anyone have experience on using a boom mounted to the rear plyon? Does the person on the boom get much spray in their face from the hull ? Any other issues that I should consider?

Any suggestions on the best boom to buy? Thanks!
