Old decals

I am going to remove the old faded wave decal to install the new one. I cant believe how well it is currently afixed to the hull. Any ideas on how to remove the old wave decal. Scraping will not work...any solvents to get it to come off? What have you guys used to get thes decals off.

the wave is the worst to get off. try a heat gun, it will help peel the sticker back. then you'll have to get the residual glue off. your favorite solvent...goo off or whatever and a stainless steel pot scrubber will get rid of it in no time. seriously. most other methods just smear the adhesive back and forth but these scrubbers lift it off.

one of these...it won't scratch the hull unless you're popeye...

3m makes an eraser wheel for drills, never tried it.

Took me a good 45 minutes with a razor blade and a bottle of acetone. Rubbing compound took care of the "shadow" left behind.
