Just checking to see if anyone has done the same thing I have on there supra. Its an 87 sunsport originally equiped with a 454. Well they block was cracked in the 454 so the guy that I purchased it from bought new 350 exhaust and a junk yard 350 and dropped in it. He blew that engine after 1 summer then I purchased it from him and built a .30 over 350 with all marine parts. I have yet to see an early model with a 350. All that I have seen are 351 fords and the 454. It seems to be very strong with the 350. I dont think there was to much of a hp difference with the 350 and the 351 ford engine. I figure with the performance upgrades that I have done I should be a little over 300 hp. I have a friend that has a 2004 malibu wake setter with the 350 vortec engine that my boat runs right with his and maybe a little faster.

In 89 when I bought mt Sunsport the 350 was an option. I was a GM tech back then so
naturally that would be for me. After thinking about it, I decided to go with the Ford 351
because 99.9% of the boats came with them. I didnt want there to be issues with
parts and service in the future its been 20 years 700 hours no problems.

Thats what I was worried about was the parts issues. But what I did was re fabricated the brackets from the 454 to mount the water pump and alternator. So if anything happens I just get the parts for the 454. I would have built the 454 but finding a used block is almost impossible.
