It's really hard to get access to the backside on these boats.... I considered adding them to mine, but the floor is just too big of a pain to get out of there.

What about wiring through the swim platform brackets like lots of guys do?

I took out my back seat and the gas tank, there is access to the back of the boat. There is no floor under the gas tank! Easy to get to the swim bracket's, but it look's like the bolts are covered with fiberglass. I don't want to try to loosen the bolt's.

I'm thinking about just drilling a hole an using sum silicone or 3m 5200 to seal up the hole's for the wire's....

I not sure about what to use to seal it up... I sure don't want a leak,
I'll try to take sum pictures of the project!!!!!

Well yeah if you have access to your rear transom hull there is nothing wrong with drilling a tiny hole. Easy to seal back up. There are so many holes in any boat already... I know it feels wrong, but it's very common and the proper way to do it.

Of course, this is coming from someone who hasn't yet drilled a dedicated thru hull for my ballast system yet....:)

Yea, I hear you MikeyD ... but a wire hole, and a thru-hole for ballast are not even in the same league of "discomfort". 1/8" versus 1.5" ....

Haha thanks! I know I will put the 1.5 in for the ballast someday (or maybe two 3/4") but for now I'm going to build a manifold for the raw water intake so it can handle three Simers.

I had no problem drilling 2 3/4 holes in the bottom off my hull for my auto ballast system. I'm worried about a 1/8 in hole with just the wire and silicone to seal it...
No worries with the ballast, a lillte 3m 5200 and the thru hull fitting and it's not going to leak!!!!!

Some of the underwater LEDs are flush-mount, too... which means a 2-3" hole in your transom. I'd have no problem doing this if I had access under my gas tank. The Saltares don't have this.... doh!

I drilled a hole in mine for LEDs under the swim platform- sealed the hole(1/4'') with mil-spec rtv, also I used a clamshell cover over the hole - like the ones on the speedo hoses, only a little bigger.

I can access to my transom bolts etc. under the gas tank in my 86 saltare. Right were you need to be to drill hole for led wires. I just ordered some from Oznuim to do just that. I well let everyone know how it works.

If you follow the links on the previous posts back to the 'Wakeworld' article, there
is information there about where to get them, and the fact that the members
of the wakeworld crew are talking about a group buy, with discounts.

Spending WAYYYYY too much time on the net. Actually wakeworld.com advertises a lot of them on their bulletin board.
