Hey everyone l am new to the forum l have a 2006 22 ssv and its cracking neer the tower has anybody seen this ?

yep, i had cracking around the front tower mounts and also underneath the cushions in the playpen area on my 05 ssv 22.

my 05 ssv has the same cracking on the front where the tower mounts..

Anyone know what the support is like under there? Are the cracks just cosmetic?

Thing about gelcoat, it doesn’t flex as much as the fiberglass will and this causes the cracks. I have had all of my tower cracks fixed but expect them to come back over time and use.

The fiberglass is reinforced at the tower mounting areas. The cracks on my boat have only been cosmetic. There is a way to tap the end of a crack to keep it from continuing. You do this by drilling a small hole at the end of the crack just deep enough to go through the gelcoat and not into the fiberglass. Then seal with a caulk or a gelcoat touch up kit.
