I can't curse the rain (too much) we TOTALLY need it, as we're in an extended drought - but doesn't make for much time in the water, so I have been
doing a few things planned/in the works for a while.

First, removed all the non-Supra stickers:

starting with the big "Vortec" - after:

http://photos-c-0.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4402/84/74/1387647550/a1387647550_439650_4637046.jpg

Then all the other "billboard stickers" .... Before:

http://photos-a-0.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4402/84/74/1387647550/a1387647550_439648_7960772.jpg

After:

http://photos-b-0.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4402/84/74/1387647550/a1387647550_439673_1323460.jpg

Then, I added the WS-420 Wet Sounds equalizer - had one in the old
boat too:

http://photos-h-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs003.snc1/4402_1162769034552_1387647550_439655_899273_a.jpg

More in parts 2 and 3 --- dang image limitations!

Then, I added the second mirror::: (samson, made for left side)

http://photos-f-0.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4402/84/74/1387647550/a1387647550_439653_2875652.jpg

Moved the original mirror to the passenger, put the new mirror on the original arm: (new Extreme!)

Part 3 to come.

Then I got rid of the Kenwood iPod deal - didn't like it, and added an
IS75 that charges the iPod, takes the audio out the bottom - and then
you have both RCA and headphone jacks - this plugs into the WS-420 - and
I can pause the iPod, change songs ON the iPod. (the Kenwood deal WOULD
allow you to change the tune from the rear control, but otherwise I didn't like the interface).

I already had the RAM mount - suction cup to the window:

http://photos-a-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs003.snc1/4402_1162769074553_1387647550_439656_1453608_n.jpg

Entire "cockpit" now:

http://photos-b-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs043.snc1/4402_1162769114554_1387647550_439657_7663192_n.jpg

Now for the cupholder BLING upgrade ...

First - I added 2 LED's to each cupholder (from oznium.com - the 4 led cluster, SUPERBRIGHTS)

Drill holes then silicone the lights in (this silicone dries clear, but still wet
in this image) - they also stick up a little more than I wanted, but ...

http://photos-g-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs043.snc1/4402_1162770034577_1387647550_439662_4098981_n.jpg

Under the cupholder:

http://photos-h-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs043.snc1/4402_1162770074578_1387647550_439663_6928898_n.jpg

more coming in next post

Next, make the under-the-cup wiring harnesses: (these were later all connected and routed around the rear of the boat back to the captains area)

http://photos-a-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs043.snc1/4402_1162770114579_1387647550_439664_6594975_n.jpg

Testing the harness before installation:

http://photos-g-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs043.snc1/4402_1162771874623_1387647550_439670_8154449_n.jpg

Getting them in:

http://photos-h-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs003.snc1/4402_1162771914624_1387647550_439671_3622465_n.jpg

The switch - for just the cupholder lights:

http://photos-a-0.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4402/84/74/1387647550/n1387647550_439672_2654250.jpg

I have no pictures yet of the lights, but they are BRIGHT!!! with 2 LED's in
each cupholder (so far I only did the ones on the sides - not the ones under
the seat that lifts up for rear-viewing, or the cupholder by the driver seat).

I will have to take photos one of these nights when it's not raining!

I did add one sticker of my own:

http://photos-d-0.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs003.snc1/4402_1162767914524_1387647550_439651_717831_n.jpg

I still have to mount the battery monitor, add a few more LED's for under
the consoles and a couple of other things - but at least I have been BUSY!
Just wish we were out playing.

Upgrades look great!!! I still really like those licence decals you had made and removing the Vortec looks awesome....
Just picked my licence decals today, turns out I have ahuge sign maker at the end of my street, he cut them while I waited, 4 sets $30 CAN, got him to match the teal stripe in the gunnel so the color doesn't change where the stripe breaks for the decals, will post pic's after I wet sand/buff and install.....He also got pretty damn close on the Supra font!
Your boat looks awesome with the LED's, and the rain can't last forever!!!

Silly TG reply to your own post, you don't need a new thread for each post! :) Lookin REAL good! I want cupholder lights, but I usually use a coozy!

John, you can only have 4 photos per post. I originally had them all in one .... SUCKS.

(Hey, I am a moderator here, maybe I should just change the setting ..... ;o)

Doh,

Didn't even THINK of that ... maybe I should stop drinking beer before something
like this .........

87SunSportMikeyD
06-04-2009, 04:33 PM
Maybe some nice admin will combine them all hehe! We don't mind. Looks SOOOO nice!! I vote no on the stopping-drinking-beer-before-posting. :)

I know how to MOVE posts to another section, don't know how to COMBINE them tho ...

Thanks.

AHA!!!

"Merge Threads" (available to administrators) worked like a champ!!!

Thanks for the idea MikeyD

So I picked up one of the IS75 yesterday after seeing your thread. I have seen it around WW too. I had a different cord from Radio Shack but it was a joke and poorly made (not to mention more expensive). Sure enough it is cutting out already.

I searched for the suction cup ipod holder you had but I couldn't find it under your search term? Have you thought of a way to hide the cord yet? :)

I have also thought of using apples original ipod docking station, it's small, could be dash mounted, and you can get a RF remote for it too! (RF is better than IR since it doesn't need line of sight). But that idea was vetoed by the boss who says we dont need a remote in a boat. :p

It's raining and 45degrees in Minneapolis today booohooo!

Thanks guys, I REALLY REALLY want to put lites under the swim platform too - and
LOVE the really bright ones, like the shadow-casters, but at $600 each and you really
need 2, this is one upgrade that is HARD to justify ...

tg0824SSVGG

Yeah Steamboat, it's greener here than it's been in years -- just outside of
Fort Collins ... However, last time it was this green, by the end of July it was
even more brown and we had problems with wildfires.

Someone was asking about hte Ram Mount for the iPod ...

Poke around here:

http://www.ram-mount.com/Products/AquaBoxMounts/tabid/125/Default.aspx

and here:

http://www.ram-mount.com/Products/SuctionCupMounts/tabid/140/Default.aspx

I think I actually purchased them from GPS-City.com - but it was several years ago,
not 100% sure.

Your boat is amazing. I now want to see pics of all the sweet moves that boat lets you achieve. Hoochie glide? 313? Indy Tantrum? What do you have in your bag of tricks. Or atleast a wake:rolleyes: pic when weighted.

Funny thing is ... we're not wakeboarders at my house. We do it on occasion, but
my wife is a hard-core hydrofoiler. I am learning to surf, sort of (if you wanna call it that) and I ski on 2 skis still (I have an inner ear balance problem).

She's a competitive rider (no money in this sport!) - but here is a photo of her
from last fall at Lake Powell:

That is awesome, go grandma. I tried that about 7 years ago loved it. I want to do it again, just such an expensive piece of equipment. I thinks it great to be moving like that at a any age. I am 38 and people thinks its crazy I do backrolls and such. Chickens. I have a friend that is 42 has one arm that does not work but he can hook the three fingers. Arm doesnt move but he throws it onto the handle. He does flips on wakeboard, barefoots and does flips on airchair. He is a stud.
