We are trying to avoid refiber glassing this crack/hole in the bottom of my boat that i got when i hit my stump, atleast until the winter time.. i hear there is this "marine tex" epoxy that works really well, i was going to give it a shot and try to re-enforce the crack/hole.. the hole isnt punchtured all the way through i dont think, but its a good chunk thats missing and some spider cracks as well.

question.. when i install my new rudeder, the older rudder had some blue glue around it that looked as if it was some type of sealant.. anyone know the name of that glue or what kinds of sealant i should use around the rudder mount? some kinda of caulk? this kind was blue..

I would use 3M#4200 caulk/sealant. It's made for underwater applications and does come in a few colors, but I don't think blue is one of them. I used white. It's what I used to seal my supertrapps, pitot tube mounts and swim platform brackets on the transom.
