Hi new here and new to this boat. 1st outing ran the boat over a rockpile and tore out the rudder as well as extensive fibreglas damage. I have had the glas repaired and the new rudder assembly is being shipped from SC my problem is: where do I drill the new 2" hole in the bottom as there was no reference left after the carnage. I understand there has to be an offset for shaft removal but any help with locating the right position to drill the hole would be much appreciated. A photo from a similar model inside and outside would be of great help. Thanks Dave in Ontario Canada

I took measurements of the rudder on my 89 Sunsport I think the hull is the same?
The rudder is in a flat area of the hull I took side measurements from the edge of the flat area. Port side 11 1/2" to the edge of the square mounting plate[13 1/2 to center of rudder] Starboard side from edge of the flat area to the square mounting plate 10"[12" to center of the rudder] From the edge of the prop shaft strut back to the edge of the square rudder mounting plate 11 1/4"[ 13 1/4 to center of the rudder. Send me a fax number and I will send you a drawing . I hope this helps.
