So I get through theoil pressure scenario, (gauge was bad) and now with a brand new battery in the boat occasionaly won't turn over... gauges are alive juice is there, all grounds and supply cables look to be in good shape, connection at starter solenoid and starter is good.....
Only when I bury the throttle in neutral will it fire up....and this is intermitant, sometimes it starts like it always does....
Could it be bad contact in the ignition??

I'm wondering if maybe there's something wrong at the throttle lever, it might not be shifting properly, or finding neutral, preventing it from turning over.....

that could be it,I know my boat has tripped ignition switch(going over idle speed with blowers on) and the throttle has to be put in neutral before starting.Took me about 2 mins to figure i was still in gear, then it fired right up...

what's weird is it only wants to start with the throttle jammed forward in neutral, sometimes....
Othertimes it's fine....

Sounds like your transmission control cable isn't perfectly lined up with neutral. When it won't start, jiggle your throttle and it should start. The cable can be adjusted where it connects with the tranny.

Maybe it could be your neutral safety switch?
