Looking at a1985 Supra Comp Ts6m tomorrow

Ok here is the good news.
1985 comp t6
It is a one owner boat
Has only 190 hours on it.
My uncle has owned it since new.
He took very good care if it until 2004 when his children arrived.

The bad news
It has been stored outside since 2004 and that was the last time it was in the water.
For the last two years it has been uncovered in the texas sun.
Needs seat covers ect everything is there but sun-dried.

What should I offer him?
I have seen rough shape sell for under $800 and up to $1500
Restored some have sold for 5k-12k

Things i know i need to check.
Stringers and Floor
Make sure motor bolts are tight and not falling out.

Ill have pics tomorrow the decals are correct and everything is there.

He special ordered the boat according to him a waited several months for delivery.

Motor : partially disassemble and inspect.
V-drive : swap fluids and check for leaks.
Hull : replace seals on exhaust and other seals that might dry out.
Floor : I pretty sure ill pull the floor out no matter what just for pice of mind
and take pictures for the next owner if there ever is one. Also i will replace all foam thinking about using a closed cell foam and shaping it to fit.

Sounds good... look into Salty87's resto for the foam tech. he did the samething to allow water to pass into the bilge....
He's you're Uncle I'd say between 1500 and 3000, I know it's a big window, but if it only needs a tune up and interior, you've got a good boat.
If it needs stringer's and floor well that's different, check the structure before offering him anything.....

Well i went and looked at it
The swim plate is attached but one side the bolts were lose.
So i know ill have to do some transom work.
The stringers at the motor are solid bolts tight no cracking in fiberglass.
Also there were several inspection plates in the floor to look at the stringers.
He had a boat shop treat the stringer area at one time with some sort of coating.
The stringers looked good under the floor where I could see.
The rear floor behind engine is shot and needs to be replaced.
I pretty much knew the floor needed to be replaced.
I'm sure ill find more issues when i get the floor out.
It is actually has 300 hours on it.
Trailer needs tires.
It will defiantly need some tlc.

This is what i get with the boat
Boat and Trailer.
Barefoot boom.
Taller ski pole i would say it about 6 ft tall with some attaching straps.
5 sets of skis
3 tubes
A bunch of tow ropes.
9 Ski life jackets.
Some other ski stuff.
Basically everything he has in the garage that has something to do with the boat.

The price he wants to charge me for the boat is $600
What do you think?

It was covered by a tarp until a few months ago.

ok $600 or $6000?
$600 and I'm coming down there now! 6k with a new interior and the floor fixed and all those extra's wouldn't be a bad deal if you knew the stringers were good. If it's 6k as is I'd wanna work on that a little.
I bought my '90 Conbrio last summer for 3500 CAN. and it has needed some floor repair a tune up and an entire interior, not quite as bad as yours but it also came with a broken hour meter at 999 HRS. I love the project and will not sell the boat until it's satisfactory to me, I may end up doing stringer's, because I think they're startiing to go. My engine mounts are still rock solid and my driveshaft alignment is good so I'm not too worried.
If I were you I'd be thinking about 4k (if you're 600 was a typo!) the restoration you're embarking on will add up, tune up, etc.....These really are great boats I just wish mine was bigger, doing more wakeboarding than skiing these days.......

Im picking it up on saturday.
Now i just have to find a place to put it.
I might just rip out the floor sunday and see what i am in for.

The one thing I found after I pulled my interior was that I had a huge ziplock bag of screws that I should'a labelled so that I knew where they all came from!!!
Would love to see some pic's of your foam, when you get that far........
