View Full Version : 87 Comp Ts6m Question
I have a 1987 Comp ts6m. I am trying to figure out what the four dash lights are to the left of the steering wheel. I have two of them figured out so far. The lettering wore out. Anyone have any ideas?

I am in the same boat as you, literally and figuratively. The electrical schematic suggests that these are low oil pressure, high temperature, a low fuel warning light, and one I can't read. I believe the one I can't read is a second low fuel light, and the wiring of the schematic seems to bear that out. The upper fuel light comes on at about 1/4 tank, and the lower as the tank nears empty. I know from experience that if you If you see the lower light illuminate, you want to be at the dock!
From the drivers point of view, the lights are:
________ O Oil ________ O Fuel low
____ O Temp_______ O Fuel empty

I have them labled on my comp, I'll get back to both of you on what they are.
________ O Oil ________ O Fuel low
____ O Temp_______ O Fuel empty <----- this is the only one I cant confirm from pictures of my dash, I'll have to go and take a look tomorrow.
But the rest are correct.

According to my manual the forth lite in question is low amps. I have a 89 Sunsport but I think they are the same.

If I try to interpret the writing on the circuit diagram, I would have to say that it said AMPs, simply because the word is very short, and I whould have to agree 100% with you guys.
-But -
The previous owner described this low fuel scheme, and darnit if the boat doesn't seem to to prove it true. The boat will begin blinking the low fuel light at about half tank in bumpy water, and when you get really low on fuel, the upper fuel light wil iluminate steady, and the lower fuel light will begin to blink. Further to that the schematic inidcates wires running from the lower to the upper in series. So I must say that it is a bit of a mystery to me. I can't upload my schematic beacuse of the file size. If anybody can clear the air, I would sure like to hear it!
Thanks,
