Testing Coil

Hey Guys Is there a way to test the coil? I got a new one but a buddy need one and i would givethe old one to him if its good!

Any way with a volt metter, or resistance??

I took mine to autozone and they checked it. Not sure if they really knew what they were doing but the told me mine was bad. So I bought a new one....and the boat started. Maybe take it to you local autoparts store and ask them to check it.
