I am doing a Trailer up restoration on an 85 Supra Sunsport...

I am doing my best to make it look like this:

My question is >> What kind of paint is recommended for the hull?
I know factory uses Gelcoat... I am looking to just paint it... I want a paint that is durable and scratch resistant >> But will also flex if it has to.

I was looking at some 2 part epoxy paint that I can get in any color... I have used this paint before in my garage and warehouse... It has a mirror shine to it and resists scratches great! Has anyone ever used this on a boat? Or would I be the first??

There are a lot of quality boat paints on the market, two part and newer one part epoxies. Just do an internet search for boat paint. I'm thinking about doing the dark blue color on my boat.

Please keep us posted with lots of pictures. I have 84 Rider that I am trying to decide how to finsh...keep it original or go with new style paint and graphics. You may also want to check into getting it wrapped. Not sure if that ends up being cheaper or not but I have seen some really cool wraps.

Whatever you decide please post some pics of your progress.

thanks
