Prop Shaft Allignment

Can anyone tell me how to check if the engine and prop shaft are in proper alignment. My boat is an '88 Mariah direct drive (Ford small block, Velvet Drive 10-17). It has been suggested that the recurrent transmission problems I'm experiencing may be related to engine alignment. Thanks.

I have the procedure for alignment and check that was provided to me by SC. Send me a pm with your email and I'll send the doc when I get home this evening. Pretty easy.
