I'm looking for an all-around family ski boat for less than 18k. Have 2 early-mid-90's Saltares in site and wondered what the slalom wake was like.

If you are a skier stay away from the Saltare. SunSport will do wake or ski. Comp is your slalom boat, or Conbrio is same hull and open bow.

Any manufacturer makes a closed bow Comp-type boat. Try Ski-it-again.com or there are some great comps on this site. Where are you located?????

I'm in the Providence/ RI area, spend most time on lakes in NH but interested in using it on a river that heads to Narragansett Bay, so possibly interested in something that handles minimally rougher water.

Im with wakemikey if your wanting to slalom ski a closed bow is the way to go. I have had mine in some pretty rough water and it handled better than I ever thought it would.

I have the best ski boat ever made. And It makes it really hard to wakeboard. Jet

I agree with best ski boat being Comp. I had a 90 Comp TS6M. In my mind best tow boat made for the skier. I traded to 07 moomba outback last year with open bow and tower. Still awesome ski boat but can crossover with ballast for wakeboarding and going to sack her out next year and surf. It's a great all-around boat for my family with primary setup for the skier at heart!
