Looking for some help on underwater LED lighting for under my swim grid. I managed to find something from Attwood. A 5" wide LED blue light listed around $300 Cdn. I would like to do one light on each side of stern so this could be very expensive. Anybody have any contacts or other suppliers that sell these new underwater lights? Also looking for lights to do up the cabin courtesy lights in side storage compartments and also blue lights under stainless Supra bezzles at front and rear of boat. Any information will help.

Thanks,
Dave

There have been a TON of discussions, tests and comparisons done over
on wakeworld.com

http://www.wakeworld.com/cgi-bin/Discus4/discus.cgi?pg=topics

Hit the search button at the top, and search for "Underwater LED" - and you
will find all that you want, and more.

There is one LONG article by "Grant" where he tried all the different ones
he could find - have photos, prices, etc.

Good Luck - I want 2 BLUE ShadowCasters for my boat - but at the moment
have a hard time justifying $1200-1500 for the COOL factor.

Pardon my ignorance (or maybe it's just my age showing), but what is the purpose of underwater LED lights?

Went surfing this summer in the evening off the back of my buddies' 24' Centurion Enzo. He had blue LED lights under the swim grid which illuminated the water to a very nice colour that can only be brought out in the night time. It was cool!

beast link it up!!

On wakeworld I saw two great pics. In one the lights lit up the bottom of the lake and you could see weeds and a fish at night. Kewl. The other had hot chicks swimming at night in the blue lit water behind the swim platform. Definitely a good sales ad.

Personally I would get the bullet lines lights as they are the best budget light imho. But that will have to be on my next boat. :)

I was considering mixing white and green LEDs to get a softer greenish hue. I also thought that the natural bluish tint of the whites might blend well for an overall turquois color. Has anyone ever seen a combination of colors. I'm in a freshwater lake. Just wondering if it'd be worth it.

Depending on my customer, I may be installing 2 white's and 2 reds on the back of his red Centurion. We're trying to make time to contact Shadow-Casters to set up as a dealer with them :winkwink:

Let me know how that looks and if it seems to work well, maybe we'll talk!

It's gonna be at least another month before being installed, and another 3-4 months before it's in the water. The owner lives 8.5 hours away, so I'm affraid that I won't be able to see the water test. I will be taking plenty of pics in teh dark shop though.

The light I use and install is 0174 The lens can be changed from blue, green or clear. Sorry I did not post earlier, I was out of town for awhile. The bulb can be changed without pulling from water also. Al

If any of you are interested in Shadow's, I can do a group buy for you guys. With a minimum of 10 lights, it would be under $500 each.
