22ssv 2005 350 knocking noise

Hello all. Hope everyone is staying warm...im not.

Any questions here would be helpfull. Periodically there was a knocking noise that my boat made. Normally at idle or low rpms. So i opened the back up and the sound did not sound like it was coming from the engine. Is there something with the v-drive that would cause it because the sound kinda sounded like it came from the middle of the boat and not engine.

You should check the bolts/nuts up against the v-drive unit that secure the arm that turns the prop! I heard something similar, didn't know what it was, got up under there while changing the v-drive oil and noticed one of the bolts turned. Tightened them all up and all was copecetic. May not be what you're hearing, but if you were suspecting the v-drive this could be the culprit.
