I have a 24SSV with the 450hp motor and I am wanting more top end, have any of you guys on here done any performance mods on the 8100 to get more power? My boat only goes about 42-45 I wanted a Foutain but the wife and family wanted a wake board boat so as you can see from my post we ended up getting a wake board boat, I love the boat I just want it to be FASTER!!!!!

sweeeeeeet. what prop do you have on it, and what are the rpms at wot? I would think ya should be able to get atleast 47 out of it. I know a guy who was sponsored by Mastercraft and they put a blower on his bigblock. they had to scoop the clam shell but had to close it as it was unbearable noise. He maybe got 1 more mph but boy did it suck gas and overheated after 10 mins at wot

plus these boat designs are speed limited so you may be out of luck :(
i feel for ya , i want more speed to but for barefooting not balls

Honestly I cannot remember the rpms the boat was at while going 45 cause it was a few months ago. As for the prop it is stock one that came on the boat..

There made for hole shot. I have the 22ssv worlds 340hp it only will go 42 mph. But they look good going slow

You probably have the 14.25x14 wakeboard prop, you could bump up to a 14.25x17 or 19 and get more top end, but you will loose a lot of the holeshot and torque. And my 22V will top out at 41-42 as well at about 5100 RPM, which I rarely push it to.... I can cruise at 35 mph and not push the motor as hard.

All the same 41_42mph it will hit 43_44 if i play with the wake plate on glass. It has hit 75mph. On I20 west

Funny!! And it wasn't using near the gas it normally does!

I have hit close to 80 on I 85 south, but at that speed, I am confident my truck gets worse mileage than my boat.

To get more speed you need to get the boat more out of the water. Do you have a ride plate on the aft edge of the boat? Inboards are not meant for high speeds, but can be acheaved by working on the hull bottom. Modifying the motor is not recommended and might not really achieve much anyway. Much more progress can be made by hull bottom work. If you do have a ride plate, raise up as far as possible for best top speeds, this will move the wake tail also. Al

we have all been there. Forget about any mod. The engineers have built that boat well for what is designed. You will void all warranty, no one will want to work on it etc.
