Anybody get involved with wakeskating? I snowboarded for 15 yrs and skated when I was a child so I figure I should pick up on tricks with this pretty darn fast!

And this was me Kneeboarding and then I just decided to see if I could switch from my knees to my feet and it worked lol

And I know I look twisted up and confused but here is my sunsports wake

Well there's lots of different wakeskates, but personally I am looking for a very simple basic wood skate with foam on top, not griptape. I don't really plan on riding in shoes much unless I get really into it.

I used to use an old wakeboard with traction pads on it. It didn't work that great, but was fun. Wasn't able to go wake to wake though....

Here is my local shop's selection

I am looking at the Liquid Force Faction or the Hyperlite Stylus for $99

Make sure you get the right size! I find them more tempermental to variations in weight and height than any wake or surf board.

Yeah its a hyperlite scape 107 with foam tape,I bought it last october! I read a few places and they recommend shoes even with foam griptape! I got out my old skateboard and can still pull off back side 180 kickflips - 360 flips - pop shuvits - etc etc So we will see how it goes on the water!

Hmm.. So how does 6ft and 170lbs on a 107 sound? and since we are talking about sizes, What size wakeboard should I be using? I Just bought the first one I saw 3 yrs ago! lol

Just got my wakeboard out to check its size and its a 134... Do you think thats to small for a 170lb 6 ft tall person?

I just picked this wakeskate up today, EVOGEAR is having an additional 25% off the listed outlet prices. I got it for about $128 shipped to my door, did a lot of research and this one got some good reviews. Its our first wakeskate, just wanted something on the boat to goof around with.

Fman that is a great deal for that skate.

Clint, I ride a 134 and I am 165 5'8" so IMHO it is a bit small for you. I would try a 138 or 140.
