This is Texas!!! Who needs a groundhog!

Doesn't look like I'm seeing any boarding soon. Unless its snowboarding

Even the owl is hating life.

Another round of snow for the Southwest, what is up with that? We made a trip to Arizona a couple of weeks ago and got blasted with 30 degree weather and lots of rain and snow. It felt like home:(

Yeah, we were 2 degrees colder here in Houston than Vancouver. Gotta be the global warming. Guess I need to rush out and buy some carbon credits...

Hey CM. I thought I was the only wakeboarder in Mckinney. Mine is in the garage. Jet

Jet

Just moved to McKinney about six months ago. Trying to figure out the closest hot spots for good water in this area. Check out your profile page. I posted a message there a while back.

WOW!......I feel for your boat! :( Maybe its time for some indoor storage? That weather cant be good for all the electronic components, steering cables, etc....! That is too nice of a boat to have stored outside!

We got about 8-10 inches here in Howe (north of Mckinney by about 20 minutes) Luckily the boat is under cover!

I live in Howe, which is about 23 miles north of mckinney off 75. If you have been to Sherman, you went through Howe. We go to lake texoma. Usually grandpappy point or highport. When we camp we go up to the Oklahoma side to platter flats. You guys ever make it to texoma?

I'm moving to OKC in the summer. I may take a couple trips to Texoma this year. I'd love to go with folks that know the lake. We should plan a trip where the Texas folk and the Oklahoma folk can meet there.

I'm in. I need to find some new lake fanatics to meet up with. My regular crew was in Rockwall area at Ray Hubbard. Bastards are too lazy to make the drive to McKinney.

I went to Texhoma once to meet up with some friends. Never could find them though. That lake is huge. Confusing if you don't know your way around.

Would like to try it again though.

It can be very confusing. I grew up on texoma, so I'm pretty familiar with. All these other lakes around here are foreign to me

cmtaylor - beautiful boat man! I love the colors - but isn't there any way you can get that beauty inside or under some shelter? I hate to see a new Supra covered in snow :(

Believe me... I would love to get her into a covered area. I had the boat in the Marina in a covered raised slip for the last 4 years. You wouldn't believe the damage it went through being there. Bugs, spiders and mildew throughout the boat. I spent more time repairing everything then I did wakeboarding. The only other option I have is a dry storage somewhere which I am looking into. This doesn't usually happen here though. It doesn't even really snow here. That is the most snow ever recorded here on record. Guess global warming is no joke!!!

Thanks for the kind words.

For me, a boat is a huge financial investment, if I had to pay for storage to keep it inside it would be well worth the monthly expense. I hope she can survive that winter!

I've looked into dry-storage here the last week or so, after cleaning my boat from sitting outside for a few months. It looks like it's 130-140 a month for a 10' x 25' unit. Those with shorter boats can get a better rate for a slightly shorter room. That isn't for a heated unit, which is what I'd really like to get.

Good news is you would probably only have to do it for the harsh winter months, seems like a reasonable price to keep everything dry and extending the life of your boat.

I don't really like to advertise that I keep mine outside, but it is under cover and plastic 3mm sheeting. Did it for year and years and years with all of our boats and have never had any real problems. It's too cold for mold. Gotta protect against pockets that trap water and make large ice sheets. It does make me cry a little bit though, she looks so cold and lonely.. Maybe I will invest in a collapsable car port for next year.
