Has anyone installed this sac yet? 1100lbs seems like quite alot to put in one corner but could be really useful for surfing. Opinions anyone? Ive got a 24ssv by the way.

I wasn't sure it would fit so i ordered the 750's. Plus they are cheap! Haven't filled them up yet, though, so i dont know how they fit. I plan on using the stock 400's to move around and place whereever i might need extra weight. That might be another option?

I believe the 1100 is for the front playpen area not the ski locker. I have a 750 in the rear ski locker on my 22V and there is no way an 1100 would fit in that space, at least not in my boat.

Would a 1000 even fit in the ski locker???? My 750 full packs that area pretty full. I would love to see some pics of a 1000 lb sac in the ski locker.

Fly High sells an 1100 pound sac that fits in the rear lockers of the 24ssv. It apparently is made perfectly to fill up the whole locker. I guess no one on here has tried one out, and for only 30 dollars more than the 750 bag I think I will probably try one out.

ahh .. i didnt realize it was only that much more and i def didnt think it would fit. Guess i should have came to the forum before ordering. Are you planning on putting one on each side or just using it for surfing only? If you use it for wakeboarding i think you will need more weight up front too.

That would be an awesome setup for surfing, and additional 350 lbs would be a huge upgrade for surfing.

That is why i had plan to use the stock 400's. Move in the back for surfing or put up front for wakeboarding. blaze has me interested in the 1100 now, though. I'd like to hear from somoene else on the fit. I havent even pulled the 750's out of the box and could likely send them back.

Fman - would the additional weight over 750 help that much? Seems like that is alot of weight in the back. Also, do you fill both your 750's up to surf or just the surfside? Do you fill the 750's full for wakeboarding?

Not trying to steal the thread .. just some questions i have been curious about.

I fill the 750 bag up completely on the side we want to surf on, my 400 lb center bag does not seem to add much to the wake size. I can get a pretty good surf wake with just the rear 750. I think I might need some more bow weight to make the wave longer. I think some guys are running another 400 lbs in the front bow.

The 1100 in the ski locker I believe would only help, might want to ask Mikey he is pretty dialed in on the surfing. If you have an 1100 in the bow and 1100 in the ski locker with a 24' boat, that wake would be massive!

I have (3) 1100lbs bags, including the back two lockers :D They don't fit perfect but they can fill up most of the way, will put some pressure on the flip down panels by the engine but hasn't done any damage yet. The prior owner (Trevor Hansen) left them in there, a bit much for me but it's fun sometimes haha

I ended up just sticking with the 750s. 1100s would be nice but I still have the stock 400s and i can throw them on there too. This weekend I used the 750 for the first time, I also filled up the old 400 and put it on the seat so I had 1100 in the back corner plus 1100 in the center locker. I dont think the center weight did too much to make the wave longer but helped a little.

Is there any room under the ski locker (sunpad) to stack the 400 on top of the 750? I was curious as to whether i could do that. I have also heard of people putting it under the seat where the cooler is but i dont plan on ripping out the cooler. It's an idea though to get it off the seat and out of the way.

Also, if you want a longer length, throw your other stock 400 in the bow. I've heard that helps.

All of this info is coming from stuff i've read. I just made the same upgrade and hope to try it out on the 20th!

Surely with that much weight its a good surf wake.

I still can't figure out how to fine-tune my surf wake, but I didn't get to work on it much last year after I got the boat. With as much wake as I've got going you'd think I could figure out how to tune in a solid surf wake without going in circles.

Well ,I just got off the phone with jason at wakemakers and finetuned my order with a 1100 lb bag. Thanks for your help Jason, i'll let ya know how it fits in my 09, also making a little mod on my jabsco system to see if i can bump up its peformance....details to follow

There is a little room on top of the 750 if you wanted to stack the 400, but I just took out a couple of the seat cushions and let the 400 bag sit in the cooler and lay up onto the back seat. It even ended up being a decent seat for people to sit on. Im gonna try next time fitting the 400 bag on the side in the bow, because the weight in the middle in the bow isnt really helping.

Keep in mind that just because a bag is rated at 1,000lbs. doesn't mean it will weight that much if you're installing it in a compartment that doesn't allow it to fill completely.

On a 22 the new Jumbo V-Drive Surf Sac will give you more weight than the Fat Sac, but it's not going to be close to the rated capacity of the bag. It will be almost completely full on the 24 though.

Keep us posed on the results of your progress docdrs, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

So you say the 1000lb, do you mean the 50x24x24 fat sac?

Has anyone tried this bag in the 24ssv, what was the surf wake like?

I'm gonna be adding an external bag soon for my 24SSV GG for surfing. Wonder which one would be the best? I've already got the 1100# front center, and I think 2 450's in teh rear. Do they have 750# replacements for the rear of mine? I haven't paid much attention to ballast upgrades at all, but since mine is being reworked I think I may upgrade pretty soon.

jonyb, i have the same boat but a year older. I am running the 750's. However, it sounds like 1,000 lb bags may be an option. Not sure if the 1,000 will fill completely or not, though. You likely have 400's currently.

What's the size of the 750's in the rear? I'm not gonna put the 1000's back there if they don't fit.

A little off topic but has anyone ever messed with water foils. If you could develope a (-) pressure off the transum (rear) of the boat thus sucking it into the water and creating a large wake. By changing the pitch of the foil making it dive more or less. Use two to create a left or right side pitch too. Perhaps it has been tried but I couldn't find any info....

Daff, A few years back a few companies developing something like that... I saw a post that was taling about cracking around the Original wake plate mount... Dont quote me on this its been a long time ago and I dont personally know the guy posting.......

In theory it would be a good deal...

You're basically talking about a Wedge, or the aftermarket version, the Switchblade (http://www.switchbladewake.com/).

Jason, don't you do discounts for board members? Can you PM me details? My boat's getting a new ballast and I'm gonna need some parts.
