Im heading over to the interior guys shop Friday to talk things over with him on how im redoing my 86 sunsports interior! So far I Im putting black carpet in the boat with a nice bright white main color interior with light Gray Stripe on the dogbox and light gray stripe on the seat cushion that covers the pass seat storage, Im thinking some kind of stripe for the side panels that follow gunwhales and just leaving the rest all white with some grey outline in through out the whole interior,

I plan on the boat being black gray and white so the interior has to be in that same area,

Im making the white dash panel Black, Top and bottom and moving my guages to match the 87 style sunsports vs the 86 and older

ALL TEAK WILL BE REMOVED, OLD SIDE LIGHTS GONE, OLD mirror GONE, OLD STEERING WHEEL GONE,OLD PYLON GONE,OLD Guages GONE, I really like to use the compartment on the dogbox but I think its going to go to just to eliminate the wood, UNLESS I could sand it and find a grey STAIN?

I also got a black 87 style sunsport steering wheel coming from viper and I will be tinting and powder coating the windshield from black,

This boats interior is simple and pretty much what I believe im going to do since anything else is going to cost more then what I want to pay,

What do you guys think of paying $2500 to re do the FULL interior with stripes and building/replacing wood in the rear bench and completly building the front open bow

Who's going to do your interior? Sounds like your doing a lot of the same things that I am. I would love to meet up with you on the lake sometime this summer with our boats to "show and tell". Didn't you take the hull to Pittburgh for the stringers?

I have seen the doghouse wood sprayed with bed liner and it looked really good.

That line-x on the doghouse must feel great against bare skin! I could see it sprayed inside the 'house to keep noise down! In my freinds truck bed, it gets your clothes black- and boy does it get hot in the sun!

My idea of a doghouse cover is plexiglass. Imagine a tricked out motor with leds glowing through plexi, ahh.

I'm pretty sure you can get several different textures of line-x, from hard to soft. You dont sit on this piece of trim either. If you were removing all the other teak it could be an option. I would just sand it and polish it, since you still have a teak platform.

I dont know the current interior on yours looks pretty good compared to mine. I am looking to do mine as well but it may have to wait until next year. So I am with you, if anybody has some pics or ideas for the interior please post them.

I took the plans and pics to the interior guy, He is actaully heading to hawaii for a month so I will not have it back for a while but that gives me time to work on the other odds and ends that will take me some time to do myself!

im going to sand that teak storage and either paint it, Stain it grey If I can find a grey stain or We actaully have a linex place near by and they do awesome work so ill look into that!

so far All bright white interior,
Gray stripes on the compartment seat cover, Stripe on side panels and middle stripe on dog house

I have an 87 Sunsport and am wet sanding the outside this spring, getting all of the teak cleaned up, and replacing the stereo and speakers. I would be interested to hear what people have done to get the interiors new again and what price range stuff costs. I would be interested in a reupholster of all of the seats and I figured when all of those were torn out to replace the carpet and some of the wood on the seats thats starting to rot.
