Looks great. I am jealous of your soon to be motor.

A friend of mine bought an Explorer engine to put in his 72 f100, but he stripped all of the EFI parts off of it. After looking at the exhaust manifolds today, it looks like I can get oxygen sensors in them. So I may not have to do a speed density tune. I may use a Mustang ECU with mass air. It will be a fun project for sure. The only worry I have is fitting it all under the engine cover.

I will basically be creating a PCM GT40 engine but with P heads.

I am curious how you will set up all the electrical components for the EFI. Most car stuff won't last long in a marine environment due to the heat under the doghouse and the moisture you get under there. I would be very interested in possibly doing a similar setup on my 88 sunsport if I could find parts that would tolerate the conditions. I was already looking into GT40P heads with a Performer intake, but I like the idea of EFI better.

I will have the ECU mounted under the dash. It will most likely be an A9l computer from a mass air manual transmision 5.0 Mustang. I will be upgrading the injectors because stock Explorer injectors are 19lbs at like 63psi. I have a set of 39lb injectors I will probably use at lower pressure. I know that a gt40p equipped 351 can make close to 400hp- so the ~160hp increase should be noticeable.

Looks good, does it match the side of the boat?

I dont have any decals on the side at the moment. I haven't decided what I am going to do on the sides yet.
