I just got some new tower speakers. It has 4speakers at 400 watts RMS total, and also 4 lights at 70 watts a piece.

I have two issues.

1. Does anyone know of somewhere that sells covers for the whole wake tower. I'm tired of cleaning off bugs that get smashed from the travel to the lake, and i'd really like to have one now with the new speakers.

2. I have two amps (600's) on the boat. I have 4 speakers in the boat w/ a bass tube, and the addition of the tower speakers. I am thinking of either getting a jump start charger for the boat, buying a new Optima marine battery, or putting 2 batteries on the boat. Does anyone have a major sound system on thier boat who could offer some sound advise.

P.S. Went boarding last weekend. Felt good to get back in the water in 2010. Hope the good weather comes for everyone!

Dual batteries are a must in my eyes. Below is a like to a dual batteries post. Always good to have a back up. They are your lifeline while on the water. I also have a dual 150a output altinator.

Without a doubt.....2 batteries. I have 3 amps and would be dead without a second. I am also thinking of adding a charger.

Nice Boat! Below is a link to the dual battery setup I ordered through a local dealer. There is more then one way to do it though. Search the threads and you should be able to find what your looking for.

hey db

My sugesstions would be dual batteries and an upgraded alternator and you should be set. This is what I use and it seems to be great. I have a 1200w 5ch amp (4cabin speakers, 4 tower speakers w/2horns, and a 12" sub) and a ballast system but that is all the power I use.

SurePower 1314 battery combiner/isolater from brettyates/polarbill on wakeworld for $65 (best deal and high level performance equal to bluesea, but without some of the expense and the perko which is imo not needed)

Next is new alt from db. Power woes begone! Also for only $75! Quality american made warrantied product with great customer support. I have called and talked to Ron and he is around the wakeworld boards sometimes too which is really impressive imo. You need to decide which type of alt to get, but that is another thread entirely! Your older boat should have an external voltage regulator which means you use a new one-wire alt with internal volt rel. If you would like to talk to Ron he is super friendly and knowledgable.

cool thanks.

I saw that you (87sunsportmikeyd) told someone that certain wakesurfer boards fit in a wake board rack. i have been looking at different racks to get all my boards on the tower. I have never surfed before and still don't know what board i'm getting.

Well surfing is going to be a little tougher with a Comp but I think it can be done based on others reports here. Talk to JET and Maple. You basically need to weight one corner as much as possible.

Not sure if you could take a full 750 sac but that's what I would use. Maybe for your boat it would be better to run dual 400's by the motorbox, and then drain one and move it to the surf side (both on same side). Or if you want you can modify the rear ski locker and rear bench seat base to each hold ~300lbs sacs hidden.

Any thinner surfboard can fit in a standard board rack. These are usually epoxy skim boards, suck as Inland Surfer (except the Blue and Red longboards), Phase5, Asylum/Trick boards, Hyp Coex or Broadcast (the Landlock wouldn't fit), etc. I had to file down the board racks rubber inserts a bit to make them fit without making marks on the traction pads.

Cheers!~

I purchased 2 350lb sacs. I was going to try to put one beside my engine, and move my cooler around to behind my engine. The way we pack the cooler it gets pretty heavy itself. We'll see?

Here are some pics from easter with my new speakers. I just got my isolator in so I will be able to really jam them the next time we go out.
