What is the normal temperature reading? I have a 02 Launch and it stays at 175 sometimes hits 180 when at idle but when running it never drops below 175... I hope that is normal

160 should be standard

I noticed mine was doing that this spring as well. I looked at the manual and it said up to 180. If it goes over 180 then it is time to start looking into something that is possibly wrong.

I'd keep an eye on it. You may have a thermostat that is sticking a little or not fully opening and closing. You could have an obstruction somewhere restricting water flow a bit. I agree that as long as it isn't going above 180, don't worry, but just monitor it.

Mine runs 170-175
Normal operating temp is between 160 & 180

One thing yall want to think about it is since we arent hitting NORMAL tempatures like 180-190 you want to use a winter weight or COLD weight. I use 5w-30 synthetic oil. If you arent warming up the oil to normal temps you want to make sure it works at colder 140-170 degree temps. You dont want to dry up those bearings. Jet

you can also cross reference and use a ph8 filter on the older models which is double the size of the stock filter.
