Looks like a decent deal. To bad I don't want a 454.

1989 Supra Saltare 23' Ski and Wake Board Boat. Equipped with a Pleasurecraft 454cu/350hp. Engine has had a complete overhaul in '09. Only 18hrs on engine. Floor and carpet replaced in '07. Everything works and well maintained. Has a heavy duty boat cover. Nice sound system. Comes with trailer. Can't go wrong for the price.

does anybody have any info on setting these up for wakeboarding? Im looking at buying an older sunsport. but these boats look pretty sick just wondering if i could get a decent wake from it.

I'm a newb here. But looking at the big bastard I'd just weight it like you would a Sunsport. I like everything about the Saltare except the 454 and I don't have the coin to drop a 496 in it.

eta: IIRC 454s were 330/hp not 350/hp.

eta 2: mentions floor was re-done. I'd request clarification on the stringers.

Does anybody have any input as to the ease of putting a tower on one of these... Do they work with the Saltare lines?

Ive gota 87 saltare. Awesome wake. Hull was the same on saltare as sunsport until 07. Put some weight in it and youll have a meaty clean pro size wake. I love mine.

Remember that it is a 24' boat, so for those that are saying it can make a 'bigger' wake, this is true, but the rules of displacement generally say it takes MORE water weight to sink a bigger boat than a smaller boat. Salty do you have a wake pic? :p

mikey's right, you need as much weight as you can put in it to compare to mastercraft 205 sized hulls, nautiques, etc. but, you still get a pretty sweet wake with less weight.

it's been so long since i sacked mine down like that, i don't have any pics of a really big wake.

Congrats on new boat, you will love it. Tower was easy to put on mine. I would suggest making big backer plates under the tower. I made plates out of 1/4 in aluminum that are 8 by 4 inches. This will help distribute weight to prevent harline cracks in boat at tower mount points.

Congrats! I've got an 89 Saltare, but I'm way behind on a painfully slow complete rebuild (damn work schedule). Wish I coulda found one that looks/sounds so nice. Great looking boat.

I made backing plates from 4 x 9 marine ply. Pics in my signature gallery under tower install. :)
