My 1986 PCM FOrd 351W has an alternator that does not exactly line-up with the driver pulley on the front of the engine. I don't know if I have the wrong alternator, or the wrong bracket or what is going on. I understand that older PCM's had a 37amp alternator and there was a conversion to the 50amp that is currently used. Does the conversion require a different mounting bracket? Could it be that the previous owner installed a replacement alternator but did not install the proper bracket? Maybe someone here has had experience with that . . . .

Does the pulley need to come away from the alt or back toward the alt?

Honestly I would call Supra (Anthony in parts) or dbelectrical is REALLY great to talk to. Here is the alt I updgraded to, it's 105amp and it's a one-wire instead of the 3-wire w/ external voltage regulator. My stock alt was 35amp.
