I knew what we were getting into, but had to go. We had winds at a steady 25-35 with 45-50 gusts all weekend. I just had to put it in the water. First, the temp dropped from 66 at the house, to 59 when we got the boat in the water. Second, I'm pretty sure the lake had a steady 45mph wind!! The waves and whitecaps were unlike I've ever seen. The marina even had whitecaps in a few unprotected spots. Regardless, we put it in and just cruised around inside the protection of the marina. We made it about 50 yards into the open lake and turned around. Big disappointment, but it was so worth it.

Our boat has been sitting there staring at us since January, so we loved at least getting to float in it. And as a side not, Texoma is still about 45 degrees!! I thought my ankles and feet were going to break off just after getting them wet to make sure the boat went on the trailer! Come on warm weather!!!!

That's awesome. I put my boat in the water today to put a new bow roller on the trailer to replace the boat buddy. My buddy got in the water about up to his knees to get the boat on the trailer and his feet weren't even thawed out by the time we got back to the house. I agree with you, COME ON WARM WEATHER!!!!

The luck was a little better on this end!! At least on Sunday. We had alot of wind and clouds but just couldn't wait another day. The weather could have been better but it worked out. We had mid 50's air and upper 40's water. Just glad to finally get it wet.

A couple mementos fromt he first day .. me before falling, the boat, buddy surfing, and the end of the day ...

KG, that second pic of your boat is sick! Makes me want to remove my "Supra" logo.

This Friday we are going to Clinton lake IL. The air is supposed to be in the 70s and the water will be in the 80s. Clinton has a nuke plant on it they open the warm side on April 1.

Nice! It's getting to be that time. Our water is in the upper 40's. We were really windy Saturday, as well. The more warm days we see and the more pics y'all post, the more motivated I get to hurry up and finish my boat and get it out there.

Those pics are at highport on texoma. The boat ramp is a solid 200+ yards AND around a big protected corner from open water and you can see how much chop there was. The wind was unreal. In the pic of us next to the dock, it took 4 times to get off the dock. The wind would push us back into it before I could move forward enough to clear it. I wish I had taken a pic of the open lake.

Iwakeboard, do it!!!! A mod doesn't get much easier than that and it looks clean. It started as a trial period since I have a logo sitting in the garage, the same one dusty has actually, but I think I'll be keeping it "naked".

Dusty, those windows look sweet. I have go to get mine done ASAP. Have any issues with the 20%? I hear people jumping back and forth between 20 and 35. I was going bak and forth between 5 and 20.

I've had 20% on the other boat too, and never once regretted it!

I worry a bit about fading, and mine doesn't have the sleek "Launch 24SSV" emblem on the stern. It does have "Launch" just under the windshield at the center of the boat, but not quite as sexy IMO. I wonder what mine would look like too because it's navy, I think the black gives yours that distinct badass look.

I played with photoshop a while. Originally I was going to take off the "launch 24ssv" but I left it for now. I think I like it because it gives it a little something.

The 20% looks slick.

mine is only one year newer and I saw no signs of fading
