I just got this the the other day and haven't had a chance to test it yet. My only concern is with trailer clearance. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?

Its an OJ 4-Blade 14.25 X 14.5 prop and will be going on a 2005 21v Launch.

Thanks.

Can't be of much help, but it sure is a purdy prop
Here's a link to a WW thread that was about a prop for a 09' 21v, the only reason I link it is because there's a guy from OJ on there that could probably provide some good information.

You will know as soon as you slide it on, there should be 1"-2" clearance. i think you will be fine. Jet

Mine says 14.25 x 14. What is the difference?

SSmith, As long as you submerge the trailer you should be fine...
I would'nt power on with the bunks barely in the water.

The first numbers on the prop are the diamiter, the second numbers are the pitch. The diamiter is self explanitry. The pitch is a little different. Example a 14" pitch can move forward through the water without any slippage 14" in one revelution. Now all props have some slippage usually 10 to 20% If the prop say 14.5 pitch it will move forward 14.5". I like to use the example of spining through jello without damaging the jello. Al

Scottie's prop is the new 14.25 X 14.5 FUSION 4-blade we are supplying to Supra/Moomba. This prop replaced the 14.25 X 14.

Whats wrong with the 14.25 x 14 ?

Nothing wrong with it, the 14.25 X 14.5 FUSION performed a bit better in testing.

Yeah, I own 2 of the old ones, and routinely ride at 5500' elevation ...

At the higher elevation the 14.25 X 14 should work a little better than the 14.25 X 14.5. I also have a 14.75 X 13 LC 1 1/8" 4-blade that would work well at the higher elevation too. Run the 13 on boats that run over 4000 pounds of ballast.

Eric, thanks for chiming in. Its cool to see you guys hangin out around the forums.

Thanks to everyone for the info.

I got the new Fusion prop based on some reviews I had read and Erics recommendation. I'll be picking my boat up tomorrow from Jim at Viper Customs and will get it installed soon and try it out.

I'm going to leave my stock 13.5X17.5 OJ prop on intially and get some numbers down and THEN switch out to the new OJ Fusion prop and compare it.

I'm interested in rpm changes, top end speed, holeshot power & fuel efficiency.

If I can cut back on fuel and the engines work load....I'll be HAPPY. I already know it will be a HUGE upgrade from my current prop.

Also curious..Will a diff prop change the shape of the wake?

I'll post up my results when I've had a chance to compare.
