Last year I read a post on the Moomba forum about Soft Paws for dogs. I bought a set but never tried them just ran out of boat weather. I have tried many ways to protect my boat from the dogs nails fileing with a rotary tool, paw boots and even going as far as making custom covers for both boats nothing worked well untill now. Its so simple I installed all 16 in the parking lot at the ramp. It took about 5 Min's and he didnt even notice them on.
Waking ,running and swimming no problem even when he stepped on the wife's foot it didnt hurt. For you dog owners you dont have to leave them home or worry about damage. Try them I think they are the answer.

Thanks for sharing, I'll pass this on to my parents. They are having the issue also of trying to bring their dog.

Nifty idea...We have 3 dogs (a mini beagle/bassett mix, catahoula, and a 110lbs. doberman) and the dobie I love taking to the lake but he's so big that were afraid his nails will just tear up the upholstrey in the boat. The only time we took him with us was our 2nd time out and he put a couple nicks right above the 2 heater tubes but maybe those would work out for him, thanks Mike

Haha nice I have tried these on my cat before. Only problem was their nails grew pretty fast and we were re-applying every couple weeks.

According to the web page they are supposed to last 6-10 weeks. Maybe dog nails dont grow as fast as cats do?

That's a great idea... I tried buying the dog boots for mine, and he hated them. I've been using the rotary tool lately to take care of the problem, but I will check this out. THX :)

These work great! I thought our dogs would have zero tolerance for something being glued to their nails, but other than a few curious licks they have not even noticed them anymore.

I think I spoke too soon. These would probably work for 99% of dogs out there, but one of our dogs ADD must of kicked in and he chewed most of them off. The other dog is fine with them.

Yeah our kitties chew one or two off once and a while - we found we would just replace a few every couple weeks and trim them too. But they still worked great.

Has anyone tried the awesome new neoprene doggy lifejackets too? Kinda wimpy I know, but I saw a video of doggie with a jacket and his body and head were much higher in the water and he could swim a LOT longer without getting tired. I think they are by Oneil? Uh oh this might need it's own thread.

A little off topic, but I think the new dog likes the new boat. What do you think?
