I am thinking about doing the same, sounds like it is pretty easy then. I had seen in a post that in our 09's you can't plug an play a bigger bag upfront due to the changes in 09. Have you upgraded that bag as well, and if so how was it?

here are some pics , the 1100 is close to capacity in this shot. the other compares the stock 450 to the 1100. It took about 10 minutes of fill time on the jabsco pump. The bag emptied a bit out thru the overflow...will have to put a shut off ball valve on this line

do you have the play pen or the walk thru?

thats what i'm hoping for fman. I only bought one for my surf side and am feeling guilty about the other......i suppose i should at least get a 750 for my daughter....or do i have to be an equal opportunity captain?

Thanks for update Doc.

I wonder how the compartment size compares with your 09 to my 05? I'd love to upgrade to your setup.

It would prob take 30min to fill with the sprinkler system...but worth it.

here is a video on filling it, the video was 11 minutes long , i cut it down ,about 2 mins and i had to reset the pump every 30 seconds after 4.5 minutes as i need to reset my timer so it prob takes about 10 mins. As you can see i can add more weight as i am not close to my rub rail

I'll measure my compartment when it stops raining

if i had the sprinkler system i'd 1. swap out the sprinkler valves for new high flow valves 2. Y the opposite side sac valve add ball valves and have the extra line run over to your surf sac vent hole so there would be two lines filling it. then you would be down to prob 10 mins of fill time or less for a 1100lbs

measured my compartment and it is 24w 22d 48 L then 69 L at about 12 high so i still have 24w x 12d x 19l of space to fill in front of the bag

Thanks for taking the time to do that. I'll have to take some measurements on mine and if I'm the same....then I'm all about it.

Hey doc, are you sure you are getting 1100 lbs in that bag?

JABSCO pump, 540 GPH (gallons per hour) / 60 = 9 GPM (gallons per minute)
1100 LB sac, 8.33 / 1100 = 132 gallons of water
9 GPM / 132 = 14.6 minutes to completely fill that bag

If you fill at 9 GPM for 10 minutes (9 x 10 = 90 gallons x 8.33 = 749 lbs) it gives you approximately 750 pounds of water which is what I currently have in my locker (750's). Only asking because I was considering getting the 1100 but wanted to make sure it is actually taking in more weight than the 750's.

Was just curious because you mentioned it was coming out the overflow, but possibly JABSCO under rates there pumps? or your bag may not be completely full?

good question fman, I do know that i can fill a 22.5 litre bucket in 30-32 seconds. so lets say 45 litres in 1 minute or 450 in 10. Alitre of water weight 2.205 lbs. so in 10 mins is 992.25.......so you are right i only have about 950 to 990 lbs not 1100.

here is the bucket video, plus its pumping up and over my hull but i think its a moot point

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6KczuaHxLU

so is it really an 1100 lb bag or was it 150 lbs short? it was pretty close to full look at the end of the video, but was there air in it...possibly.... hmmmmmmmm

my calculations of a 24x24x50 rectangle will yield 1040.76 lbs. im sure that due to space restrictions that i didnt have that much 900 -970 is prob what i had. which i am ok with. also depends if its US gallons or Imperial gallons on your calcs a wee bit . a us gallon is ~3.785 litres a Imperial gallon is 4.546 litres

actually fman , i just measured it its only about 22x22...hmmmmm, thought it should have filled compartment more

Doc,

Just the fact you are getting more than 9GPM out of the JABSCO is amazing. Like I said, the Tsunami 800's are rated at 13.5 GPM but I am only getting about 10 GPM. Its rare to find a pump that actually puts out more GPM's than they are rated at, usually its the other way around.

Doc,

Do the 1100 lb bags have a Tsunami assist valve on top? Kind of looks like it in the pics. I have a Tsunami pump...that would really help me fill these bad boys up quicker.

docdrs

yes the 1100 have two valves on the top and one on the end bottom

Well, I got the sacs. I had to add extra ballast hose length to my 2005 Launch. Simple to do, just a few parts from Lowes (less than 15 bucks). Wakemakers makes a kit but charges $20 for a pre-made kit/ side. So that would've been $40 vs $15.

I can't completely fill the bags because they push the rear compartment cover up and also because the bags get into the bracket of the support arm for the compartment cover. I don't know but I'm guessing I'm getting 900 lbs in there...not bad. Its definetely the way to go, if you want to maximize the space you have.

I'm going to have to start over on dialing my wake in now though. Yesterday, we went out and the wake was not what I wanted but it just needs dialing in. I had 900 lbs on rear surf side, 650lbs ski locker and 400 lbs bow (pushed surf side). The wake shaped up when I drained the ski locker. It was a short day, so not alot of time to tinker with it.

Love the bags though. It will be nice to flip a switch and change surf sides.

I have mine installed as well, very happy with pics to come,

I was running about 900ish in the rear about 600 on floor pushed to rear surf side, 650 full in the locker and zero in the bow and I was stoked, only 2 peeps in the boat...

chitty weather here, snowed 4 days ago grrrrr,

maybe this weekend.. great upgrade for $400...

I have a 2009 Sunsport with the walk through bow. I'm considering getting the 1,100s for the rear lockers but what about the ski locker? what's the biggest bag I can fit in there? right now I have a 400 lb bag in each locker and a 400 in the ski locker.

I have the 1100 lb bags in the rear and want to upgrade to the gravity games center sac. Its 1180 lbs and won't fill completely up but prob give you 900-1000 lbs in that spot. I have the playpen and dont know if you do. If you do, it will fit.

Let me ask a dumb question. I am going to be buying a Supra in the next couple of weeks (probably an 09 model). I had already thought that I'd probably need to replace the stock bags with something larger. Is the floor in those compartments rated to hold that weight in such a small surface area? I am trying to figure out why Supra wouldnt just include bigger bags from the get-go.

This is coming from a person who has never owned a wake boarding boat, and I've let people I ride with in the past do all the work (my brain is turned off).

Can you buy bags from Supra that are larger that are a plug in replacement without tinkering?

the reason they don't supply them is due to capacities, increased possibilities of boat swamping, stupidity on the part of operators , etc........if they did it would increase their exposure to liability and law suits.
