Ok so as i announced i just brought home a 02 SSV
i see the switch for the heater...but hear, feel and see no heat.
where are this model are the vents?
if it has the button does that automatically mean i have a heater... somewhere onboard? how do i check?

Probably doesn't mean that you have a heater.

On mine *(granted, it's an 08) - there is a heater vent under the helm, and there is also a set of 2, pull out heater hoses in the walkway to the front (under the windsheild that opens).

The actual heater unit itself is under the helm - in front of the board by your feet, or perhaps this is REALLY under the backrest of the front seat -- in any case, it's under the windsheild in front of the driver.

I have switches for which I have nothing there, at least now, they use a standard
block of switches ...

You hear a fan, feel air moving....at the house I assume and fell no heat. The heat itself comes from the engine water cooling system. The water circulates thru a small raditor type core, then a fan blows across it. It is like a car once the engine temp comes up you will have heat.

My 2003 ssv is prewired with the switch but does not have the heater. I think it was just a standard wire harness and switch plate so that is why it is there.

I wouldn't be TOO hard to add a heater, *you would have to cut some holes*

Look here:

They have them with 2-4 outlets, this one is the 3 outlet one.

I will NEVER again own a boat without a heater, here in Northern Colorado.

If I had a heater, I would have bee nin the water 2 weekends ago. This is on my list to add in the years to come. Gotta prioritize!

I am on my third heater install this year, 2 28,000 btu and 1 35,000 btu basically a 2 vent and 3 vent systems. the best installes are when the boat engine is closed cooled,( antifreeze in the cooling system, pressurized). Much better heat, constant temps at all rpm ranges. Installes were on a 496 8.1lt. 350 5.7 lt. and currently on a 454 7.4lt. I have a two vent 28,000 btu installed in our Beast with a 496. Makes for the late evening runns much more comfortable. Al
